NOT a fisherman but a chickenfarmer plays the part of St. Peter in the Passion Play now being performed in the Dutch village of Tegelen. He is Andre I"ranssen. an intense natural actor with a very melodious voice.

This Passion Play--which has become almost as famous as the Oherammergau Play—is given every five years, Andre Fransseri is taking the part of St. Peter for the fourth time.

More than 600 actors, and many hundreds of " back room workers, have been rehearsing for over It year to make this Passion Play a great artistic achievement but above all a moving meditation on the Redemption.

The producer is the director of a local iron foundry, Andre Thyssen. who is again showing himself to he a master In handling crowds that move In hundreds over the spacious stage.

A clerk at the town hall, Pieter Niemen, who in 1950 played the part of St. John, now plays the part of Christ.
