T1HE tree-ringed 15th century Church of St. Mahew at l'ardross, Dunbartonshire. at the not of the Lomond Hills, was remened with Pontifical High Mass In Sunday by Archbishop Camp of Glasgow.
This was the first Mass in the :hurch for over 400 years.
In the sanctuary were Bishop Pack of Paisley, Mgr. Ward, Vicar leneral of Glasgow, Mgr. Pirrie, /leer General of Paisley, Canons 4 the Chapter. Sisters of St. oseph and Mgr. Treanor, Rector f St. Peter's College, Cardross. Before the Mass 78-year-old Mr. . Cole, one of the oldest Catholic 'habitants of the village, presented silver chalice to the Archbishop. The restoration of the little hurch, holding about 100 people, as started in May last year. tudents of St. Peter's College dug le drains and foundations.
