A letter from the Pope to Mgr. Pierard. Bishop of Chalons, near Rheims, on the eighth centenary of Chalons cathedral was published by the Vatican newspaper Osservatore Romano on Saturday last.
The letter expressed the Holy Father's recognition of the importance of the event, which Chalons was unable to hold on the exact date of the anniversary last year as it was still under repair having been damaged during the war. •
