Mgr. Grosz asked for the canonisation

NOW that Archbishop Grosz,
Cardinal Mindszenty's deputy, has himself been imprisoned for the Faith, it is being recalled that some years ago he petitioned the Holy Father to canonise Blessed Oliver Plunket.
Mgr. Grosz wrote:
" Humbly prostrate at the feet of Your Holiness, I ask that the name of Blessed Oliver Plunket, to whom Pope Benedict XV decreed the honour of ' Blessed,' he numbered among the saints of God, that the fame of this good pastor and most faithful son of the Church, who suffered ignominy and torment for the glory of God, may be spread far and wide.
" I consider it most opportune, particularly in these times, that his heroic life should have influence everywhere.
" This will be best attained by the inclusion of his name in the roll of saints, so that granted the honour of public veneration, he may illumine the whole world by his example.
" Therefore, the undersigned Ordinary humbly implores Your Holiness to admit the aforementioned Blessed Oliver Plunket to catalogue of saints."
