Byelorussian Centre?

I N compliance with a wish ex pressed by the late Cardinal Griffin, Fe. C. Sipovich, M.1.C., in charge of Marian House (the North London church of the Byzantine. Slavonic rite), is travelling to the United Stales seeking support for the establishment of a London centre for exiled Byelorussians.

He has told American reporters that he has worked in Britain for 10 years on behalf of some 15,000 Byelorussian 'refugees. the vast majority of whom are members of the Orthodox Church.

The Marian House chapel, at Finchley, is the only one in this country where the Slav-Byzantine rite is celebrated strictly in accordance with the Synodal rule. It is also the only church in this country where the Knox English version of the Bible is liturgically sung.

This occurs when on Easter Day the Gospel of the Resurrection is sung at Mass in the vernacular, in accordance with the rules of the Byzantine rite.
