Libraries and Catholic Centre

SIR,-1 was very interested to read of the proposed Catholic City Centre. May I make a plea for the provision of a first-class library staffed by qualified librarians?

Great Britain is generally considered to have the finest library system in the world. and, in addition, London has the largest collection of books of any city in the world. Yet it is a melancholy fact that it is very difficult for the layman to consult many of the more important Catholic source books and biblographie material.

I am a librarian and I am hoping to publish a guide to Catholic sources of information and where they are located in Great Britain. It will contain a descriptive guide to basic sources such as Migne's Patrologiae Latinac, Dictionnaire de Theologie Catholique, etc., and a list of Catholic booksellers, publishers, periodicals, learned societies, etc.

If any of your readers have had difficulty in obtaining the books they wish to read. or if they have any helpful suggestions. I shall be very pleased to hear from them. H. D. Westacott 31, Poole Road.
