Tapestries by Buckfast monk in new liner

Dom Robert Smith, of Buckfast Abbey, has designed two tapestry panels, featuring birds, animals and trees, for the first-class drawingroom in the new P. and 0. liner Iberia, which begins her maiden voyage to Australia on September 28.
One has been woven by the Anbosson Atelier in France and the other by Mr. Ronald Cruickshank in Edinburgh.
Dorn Robert was born in France and entered the Benedictines in 1930. Seven years later he began working on his illuminations, which led to his Interest in the dcsign of tapestries.
He is at present making a long tapestry panel for the French Church in London and working on two murals for Buckfast Abbey.
