THE LOCAL PRESS

S1R,-Great work has been done for the Conversion of England. Missions are being preached in the countryside. Evidence workers speak at crowded platforms. But for every person who listens, there are thousands who read the printed word. What are we doing in daily and weekly press to spread the faith ? There are hundreds of local weekly papers in this country. The Editors are only too willing to report Catholic sermons, talks or insert articles or correspondence. The present writer at one time took several local papers and was always treated with the utmost courtesy. The Man in the Street knows little of Catholicism. Our Lord said: " Go and teach all nations I " Surely this applies to a far wider means of showing the Faith than even the spoken word !
