A popular priest, greatly loved and respected by non-Catholics, the Rev. Joseph E. Seddon, parish priest of Northwich, Cheshire, died on August 11, at the age of 57, and was buried on the 14th, eighteen non-Catholic clergymen being present among the congregation attending the Requiem sung by the Bishop of Shrewsbury. He was educated at Ushaw, and was brother to Pr. James Seddon, 0.S.B., of St, Benedict's, Hindley, Wigan.
