Americans on Pilgrimage to Harvington

A large body of American soldiers joined, on Sunday, members of the Birmingham branch of the C.Y.M.S. on a pilgrimage to Harvington Hall, where they kept the feast of Blessed John Wall, last of the Worcestershire martyrs.

The story of the life of the martyred Frinciscan, Fr. John Wall, who was arrested at Harvington, was prepared in writing by Mr. James Rochford, and read to the visitors by Father Warner.

Father Fauleoner-Morgan, in a vote of thanks, applied the lesson of superb sacrifice to the present day as he spoke of the altruism which would be needed to support the burden of maintaining our Catholic schools.

The gathering attended Benediction in the little church by the Hall. There also was an open-air procession of the Blessed Sacrament.
