Thanksgiving at Fatima

All Night

Vigils at

Lourdes Basilica

BECAUSE numbers have now exceeded 200, and to have shelter from the inclement weather usually experienced in October, Canon Marty has given the All-night Vigil Group permission to use the Upper Basilica in the Lourdes Sanctuary for the Vigil each weekend during October.

Pilgrims will, therefore, not only make the Holy Hour and attend Midnight Mass in the Basilica, but will be able to stay all night making their Vigil.

Since the beginning of February when the All-Night Vigils started the group has spent the night outside—except on three occasions when they were permitted to use the Seven Dolours Convent.

It was on October 13, last year, that the suggestion was made at Fatima to start the All-Night Vigils at Lourdes. So far this year 1.900 people have been taken and at least another 1,000 will go before the end of October.

In thanksgiving for this wonderful response the organisers are arranging a flight to Fatima for the Vigil of October 13. There are still a few vacancies and those interested should write immediately to All-Night Vigil Secretary. 3 Oakhill Road, Putney, S.W.15. The
