COME TO TAIZE

I would like to remind you of the forthcoming Council of Youth which will take place at Taize Monastery near Macon in the south of France. I have just returned from Taize having spent ten days there. There was a good representation of English and Irish young people there from London, Bristol, Dublin and various other centres.

Preparations are going ahead for the Council of Youth which will take place at the last weekend in August and the brothers at Taize expect some numbers in the region of 40,000 to 60,000 to attend, including a significant number from the British Isles.

It is a place of reconciliation for all Christians, for agnostics and indeed for all men who are trying to struggle to understand the problems of belief in the modern world, Fr Fergus Kelly, CM St Patrick's College, Cathedral Road, Armagh, Northern Ireland.
