GOD is constantly opening a door to us, inviting us to move away from the dark limitations of the ego, the small room of selfishness, and come out into the light and freedom of his presence.
All suffering opens this door. Will we stay in self-pity, in grief, or surrender in trust to him, going through the door and outside? It has to be an ad of trust because God is mystery to us, and we do not see the light and the freedom.
All we see is our pain. Most
of all are we summoned to trust his love in death, our own death and that of those we love. We see nothing, and we can be overwhelmed by loss and doubt.
Where have our loved ones gone? They have gone through the door, into God. He waits there for them as he does for us. All love, all compassion, totally aware, as we can never be, of human weakness and human inability to be different.
He knows all. He forgives all. But we don't experience this until we go through the door. Blessed door of pain and death that gives us such an opportunity to trust him.
