From the bishops' diaries

ON Sunday, Archbishop Derek Worlock of Liverpool, Bishop Cormac Murphy O'Connor of Arundel and Brighton, Bishop David Konstant of Leeds, and Bishop Joseph Grey of Shrewsbury attend the installation of Bishop Patrick Walsh as Bishop of Down and Connor in Northern Ireland.

On the same day, Archbishop Michael Bowen of Southwark consecrates the new church of St Teresa's, Ashford. On Wednesday, Bishop Patrick Kelly of Salford undertakes a similar task, being present at the dedication of St Wilfrid's, Longbridge.

On Sunday, Bishop Howard Tripp, auxilary in Southwark, celebrates mass in honour of Asian saints at St George's cathedral, Southwark.
