ST. ANDREW'S HOSPITAL, DOLLIS HILL

Blue Nuns To Take Over
The Archbishop of Westminster, on behalf of the trustees of St. Andrew's Hospital, Dollis Hill, has accepted, with deep regret, the resignation of the Sisters of Mercy from the management of the hospital, which has been under their charge since 1915. The Sisters of Mercy were urged to remain, but they have found • it impossible to do so owing to the increasing work at the hospital, for which they were unable to supply the essential staff.
On behalf of the trustees his Grace would like to take this opportunity of publicly recording their keen appreciation of, and gratitude for, the work done during the past twenty-one years by the Sisters of Mercy who, together with the late Mgr. Canon Carton de Wiart, brought the hospital to its present position of pre-eminence, The Archbishop is pleased to be able to announce that the charge of the hospital has been offered to and accepted by the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary (the Blue Nuns), whose work in nursing in all parts of the world is already well known.
The Blue Nuns will take over the hospital on October 29, and will continue to manage it on the same lines as heretofore. The Archbishop is confident that the future development of the hospital on the lines so ably laid down in the past is now assured for the future.
