Music prodigy Sophie passes clarinet exam

A PUPIL at St Mary’s Catholic Comprehensive School, Menston, West Yorkshire, has hit a high note in a recent music examination.

Sophie Burns gained a merit in her Grade 8 clarinet with the Royal School of Music earlier this month at the tender age of 16. Not wanting to get bored, Sophie filled her time by taking her Grade 7 piano examination the week after.

Sophie’s next challenge is to pass her GCSE examinations this summer.

St Mary’s is a voluntary aided, mixed comprehensive school.
