ACTU Formed

At Slough

Over 100 Catholic trade unionists attended the inaugural meeting of the newly-formed branch of ACTU at St. Ethelbert's, Slough, on Sunday last.

Mr. Bernard Sullivan, Chairman of Westminster Diocesan ACTU addressed the meeting and stressed the importance of Catholic workers taking a more active part in trade union work.

Mr. George Flounders, Northampton Diocesan Chairman, and Mr. T. Dart, Secretary, also spoke at the meeting. A party front the Luton branch of ACTU attended. Mr. N. M. Eschle. was elected Chairman, and Mr. D. Crowley, secretary of the newly-formed Slough branch,
