Advancement on other retreats

1 HAVE HAD Oceasioil to experience a day retreat With English Benedictines, and very good retreats they are too, particularly when they take place at Digby Stuart College at Roehampton, under the maternal eye of Sr Dorothy Bell of the Society of the Sacred Heart who seems to work a seven-day week! Now from Sr Esther of the Priory of Our Lady of Peace, Turvey Abbey, Bedford, 1 have an invitation to Retreats with a difference.

They are for those interested in the use of the arts in worship, the use of drama, movement, music and art. The first is on February 2, a day in conjunction with the inter-denominational team the Springs Dance Company.

It starts with coffee at 10.15 am followed by the "Theology of Worship with Movement" at 10.30 am: Mass at noon, a

ploughman's lunch followed by prayer and movement workshops, tea, and finally vespers with movement. Cost £6.

The second Retreat is on February 16, A Day of Prayer and Praise, Sr Josephine Walsh DFII will talk on "The Preparation for Mass". The noon Muss will be celebrated by Dom Edmund Jones OSB, followed by lunch and a talk by Sr Ann Laws OSB on "Charisms in the Psalms". Vespers at 4 o'clock. Price £6.

From February 22-24 there is a Pre-Paschal Tridium Worship and Workshop weekend. Workshops will be run by such experts as Miss Maureen Pamphilon, Price £22. Details of all these Turvey Retreats can be obtained from Sr Esther, Turvey Abbey, Turvey, Bedford. Telephone 023 064 432.
