One World Week

"JUST LIVING" is designed to be a programme of education about justice, peace and development at home and overseas. It will revolve around One World Week, which will take place from October 29 to November 5.

The programme if promoted by the Churches Committee of the World Development Movement and has the active support of the British Council of Churches and the Catholic Church.

In nearly 200 places throughout the country groups are already preparing for One World Week, arranging film shows, exhibitions. vigils, bookstalls, inviting speakers, running poster competitions in schools, setting up study and prayer groups on the themes of justice.

Mr Pat Gerrard is the fulltime director of the programme. Any group interested ill taking part in One World Week should contact him at N) Box No I, London. SW9.

He can also supply a briefing kit which can help local groups In plan and which contains a number of ideas for activities during the week.

Either Mr Gerrard or his assistant, I■liss Shako Asirvatham, will be pleased to visit groups who would like to help. To a limited extent they can also help train local leaders to co-ordinate the programme.

SOtTle important questions to ask when embarking on the progranune of development education are: • Will the activities reach 'hose people who have not yet begun to think about development?

• Will the programme COMmunicale ssith people in a language they understand about things that matter to them?

• What is the group going to do to follow up with a programme of din elopment education?
