Nearly 100 Irishmen employed at Risley, Warrington, followed the cortege from the Borough General Hospital to the town cemetery recently, when Mr Michael McDona.gh, aged 37, who had resided in lodgings at Nook House, Padgate was buried according to Irish custom.

His death took place in the Borough General Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment for internal injuries. He was one of the most popular foremen at Risky, and when his death took place his compatriots immediately decided to bear, among themselves, the cost of the interment. About £106 was collected, and this will go to provide a monument Over the grave as well as the cost of the funeral,
