LAND AND SEA BLESSED AT DUN WICH Pilgrimage to Submerged City

Under the auspices of the East Anglian Guild of SS. Felix and Edmund, the annual pilgrimage to Dunwich, the submerged city near Southwold, Suffolk, took place on Sunday. The Rev. H. St. Leger Mason, of Southwold, celebrated Mass.

A long and impressive procession walked to the sea from the marquee, in which the various contingents accompanied by their respective clergy took part, with members of the new Guild--which, it was declared, is rapidly spreading in all parts of the Eastern counties. Following the sermon by the Master of St. Edmund's House, Cambridge, the Rev. E. Shebbeare, B.A., the parish priest of St. Thomas's, Woodbridge, ceremonially blessed the land, and from the top of the adjoining cliff blessed the sea and recited the De Profundis for the souls of all former inhabitants of the ancient city.
