AFTER 44 MINUTES OE PRAYER The Blood of St. Januarius Liquefies

The annual liquefaction of the blood of St. Januarius took place in Naples on Monday.

This year, as usual, vast crowds were present to witness the miracle. The Dowager Duchess of Aosta led the group of distinguished personalities who were present in the actual chapel of the Cathedral in which the miracle took place.

The vessel containing the blood was elevated by the officiating clergy so that those present could see that it was solid. Then after prayers and hymns lasting 44 minutes, the blood liquefied, and it was again shown to the people,
