The Wilson Sisters -Celine, Ann and Joan — whose first

record was released this week, were born in Finchogue, niscorthy, Co. Wexford, Eire. The Wilson family moved to England in 1969.

The girls come from a very talented and musical family both on their mother's and father's side. Their grand mother still plays the mouth organ while their aunt is the well known Irish traditional singer, Mary Brogan, who has appeared on Telefis Eireann.

In 1966, Celine, the lead singer, won the Bord Failte Trophy for the best female singer in Ireland. She was also one of the founder members of the Tara Folk from Gorey. Paul Kavanagh who was also a member of the Tara Folk, is now with the Shades of McMurragh.

In 1969, Celine decided to form her own group, this time with her two younger sisters, Ann and Joan. The girls do a great deal of cabaret work. Irish and country and western airs are their speciality.
