RED RECANTS No Folly Worse Than Godless Youth

One of the leaders of Mexican revolution, Antonio Sole y Gama, has recently recanted the errors of the, Canes regime in an article in the Mexican daily El Universal.

He wrote: " Wrenching Christ from the children's conscience is identical with rearing a generation of men without a moral foothold, or men enslaved to the worst passions, to every deviation of instinct, to every bestial brutality, to the worst excesses of ambition and cruelty.

" It means rearing a generation of materialists and pagans. For these reasons there is no folly worse than depriving mankind, particularly women. of their best protection against the assaults of brutal passion and lust.

"I have returned to the Christian Faith, from which I had temporarily strayed as a result of the scepticism of my young days."

Under the Calles regime in Mexico the Church suffered one of the fiercest and most bloody of persecutions of modern times. One of the noteworthy martyrs of this time is Fr. Pro, S.J.

Mgr. Giovanni de Sangro di Casacalenda, Apostolic Prothonotary and custodian of the treasure of San Gennaro Church, Naples, died recently. The treasure includes two phials of blood of Saint Gennaro, patron saint of Naples, which once a year liquify.
