TRADITIONALIST Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre told a congregation in Dublin on Sunday that he had been promised a Vatican document on the Tridentine Mass by Christmas.
The Archbishop, who was in Dublin to celebrate Mass for his followers and to confirm a group of children, said the information about the document came during his last meeting with Cardinal Ratzinger, head of the Vatican Congregation for Doctrine and Liturgy.
But the Archbishop said he had been promised a similar document by Cardinal Ratzinger's predecessor, the late Cardinal Seper, and that it had not materialised.
"Rome is split, with all but four of the Cardinals being Modernists," he said. "They have threatened the Pope that if he makes any concessions to the traditionalists, there will be civil war in the Church."
