Aden's Need

APPEAL FOR CROSSES, ROSARIES, BOOKS The Vicariate Apostolic of Arabia has appealed through the Secretary of the Cardinal's crosses at Archbishop's House, Westminster, for crosses, rosaries and books.

Fr. Edmund, O.F.M. (Cap.), the Vicar-Delegate, writes: " 1 have in my charge all the Army, Nary and R.A.F. personnel hr the colony and am here as officiating chaplain to H.M. Forces in Aden and the Vicariate Apostolic of Arabia, organising the work of the parish priests.

" In consequence of repeated requests to open a social recreational centre for our men, I have incurred a heavy debt through the repairing 'of an old canteen. This will also supply a quiet room for writing and reading, bat I hare no money left to supply books. reviews. etc.. etc.

"Would it be possible for you to send parcels of suitable readingmatter? Cardinal's crosses, rosaries, medals and prayer books are all sorely needed "There are large numbers of men here as well as many. seamen of the Merchant Service." He adds. " Many sailors and evacuated troops front the different fighting zones have had all their religious belongings plundered."

The secretary of Cardinal's crosses Asks for money contributions, however

small, to supply these needs. Half the amount will be sent to the Catholie Librariis for the Forces.
