South Africa bans WCC leaders

The South African Government this week banned all leading Members of the World Council of Churches from entering the country. Dr Connie Mulder, Interior Minister, said the ban would last so tong as the organisation continued to support terrorist activity on South . Africa's borders.

He was ,,commenting on the expulsion last week of Dr Lukas Viseher, a Member of the WCC executive, who had told the

Press conference in Johannesburg that the terrorists were fighting for social justice and the WCC supported this aim, "What influenced me was his general attitude of sympathy and support for the very same terrorists who only days earlier had murdered four of our young men," Dr Mulder said, referring to the shooting of four South African policemen last week.
