FRANCE MUST SAVE LIBERTY Say Catholic Youth of France

De facto, but not de jure recognition of the new German occupation of Austria, is proclaimed in a manifesto issued by Catholic Youth Groups in France, including the Catholic Federation of University Students, the Young Catholic Students (J.E.C.) and the Catholic Boy Scouts. The manifesto also states that it is necessary to study the Papal Encyclical, Mit Brennender Sorge. to find the constant doctrine of the Church on Nazism.
France, the Manifesto goes on, has particular responsibilities in the present situation. Without preaching an ideological crusade France must be the saviour of personal liberty. everywhere menaced today, whose defenders are all anxiously wondering whether France will be faithful to her mission.
A Youth Pilgrimage to Chartres is to be made at Whitsuntide.
