Details of the International Peace Pilgrimage to Lourdes under the auspices of the Pax Christi Crusade of Prayer for Peace, the preliminary notice for which appeared in THE CATHOLIC HERALD of March 25, have now been issued.
It has proved impossible to obtain travel facilities for a large English delegation but arrangements have been completed for a small party to leave London on July 25 returning from Lourdes on July 30.
A strictly limited number of vacancies are still available and the estimated cost (inclusive) has been reduced to £25. or for invalids, 5.21 5s.
COVERING EXPENSES
The organisers have suggested that the many who are presented by circumstances from taking part in the pilgrimage should be represented by invalids whose expenses they could help to cover. One person from the North of England who has offered to pay the expenses of an invalid explained: "I should prefer to help an exServiceman as I am financing this expedition out of a government pension."
Several applications have been received from deserving invalias who are war casualties. Only lack of funds prevent the organisers from accepting them all.
Contributions (gifts of money or food for the sick, and pharmaceutical requisites for those in hospital in Lourdes) will be gratefully acknowledged by Fr. T. Slater, A.A., International Peace Pilgrimage. Assumption Priory, Victoria Park Square, London, E.2.
