Income can be increased without having to pay out hundreds Of pounds in fees to a business firm. he says, if parishioners face up to their duties.
He writes: "Planned (jiving is a system being introduced into many parishes whereby all working members of a family undertake to give weekly a fixed amount at the Offertory in accordance with their income and commitments. 1 hese gone into this method, but haye decided against its introduction in this parish. at present. anyway.
"It would mean paying some hundreds of pounds to a business firm to substantially increase our present income. This can be done at no extra cost by each parishioner examining his conscience and facing his duty.
Many parishioners." he concludes, "already have a sense of duty which lifts them above the threepenny and sixpenny class."
