Bishop Lindsay installed

In a cer e mony. at St. Mary's Cathedral, Newcastle-uponTyne, WI Wednesday, Bishop Hugh Lindsay was installed as tenth Bishop of Hexham and Newcastle. Seventeen Catholic bishops and archbishops attended the 90-minute service for the new Biehop, whose diocese covers the counties of Northumberland, Tyne and Wear. Durham and part of Cleveland.

On Wednesday evening Bishop Lindsay met representatives of Catholic Associations

at a reception in La Sagesse Convent, Jesmond. This was followed by a reception at St Mary's College, Fenham.

It was announced this week that the ceremony of installation for the new Bishop of Clifton, Dr Mereyn Alexander, will take place in Clifton Cathedral on Wednesday. March 5. Dr Alexander says: "All are welcome to this ceremony, and I would ask all of you who cannot come to remember me in your prayers on that day and in the time to come."
