SIR,—A Canadian Catholic paper has published this heading :—
"Stra.ssbourg (sic) sees Cathedral changed to pagan shrine." And below: " Strassbourg has been declared a national monument by the Nazi Government," So far, so good. This newspaper, further: " and by its order, no divine services of any kind may be held under its roof any longer, according to reliable re ports. . . The Christian Cross is to be replaced by-the swastika."
I am told, on some authority, that "Stressbourg Cathedral has been declared a national German monument; which means that the State in future will look after the Cathedral . . . for the people." " The second part " of the Canadian paper's news " is a shameful distortion of the true facts. . . And not in a single church in Germany has the Cross been replaced by the swastika."
What is to be said? W. E. P. Srocetee
