THE POPE HELPS GAEEK VICTIMS the lloly Father in a

message to Mgr. Macrionitis, Archbishop of Athens, has expressed his deep sympathy with the victims of the Greek earthquake, and the Sacred Congregation of the Oriental Church has, in the Pope's name, sent a donation to help the island population.

Bishop Galea, Auxiliary to Archbishop Gonzi of Malta-who

is sisiling Maltese settlers in Australia-has issued an appeal for prayers and announces that a special collection will be made in the churches on Sunday.

The Oxford Committee for Famine Relief is appealing for clothing to help the victims. It sent

the first consignment of clothes immediately after the disaster, and the chairman is travelling to Greece this week. Gifts may be sent to: Oxford Greek Relief, SOa Bourne Street, London, S.W.I.

The Catholic Aid Society in Paris has sent its first consignment of relief goods blankets, bandages and antibiotic medicines.
