President Truman, in a message to the National Catholic Educational Association convention in session in New Orleans last week, deelared that the American Government's postwar efforts to build international understanding have been inspired by " the profound religious truth that people everywhere are brothers under the Fatherhood of God."
The President commended the Catholic teachers for their convention theme, '' Education for International Understanding." He said that what the government has been doing since the end of the war is a part of that concept. Ile also referred to the fact that the association is meeting in New Orleans " where many years ago courageous and self-sacrificing nuns established the first Catholic schools in the South."
