The lamp of persecution

The Rome magazine Ginbileo (Jubilee) is sponsoring a plan to place in St. Peter's a lamp bearing the names of countries where Catholics are now suffering persecution.

The lamp will burn perpetually before the tomb of the Prince of the Apostles to symbolise the ardent faith of those who now, like the early Christians, preserve their faith in the catacombs of this atomic age, helped by heroic priests who exercise their ministry in secret.
