A NUN was among four women arrested at a nuclear base earlier this week during a Christian CND service.
Sr Maire Colette, a Dominican based in London, does not yet know whether she will face charges. Police officers who arrested her have asked the procurator fiscal to consider a prosecution for "vandalism and interference".
The service, at the British naval base at Faslane in western Scotland, was held as part of Christian CND's anti-Trident campaign. Sr Maire Colette and Caroline Gilbert, Barbara Sunderland and Helen Traske daubed the fence with paint during the service, writing a verse from the Book of Daniel (5:26).
–We were treated very courteously by the officers who arrested us. Now we are waiting to see whether we will be charged," said Sr Maire Colette, who is on the council of Christian CND.
