BARBICAN THEATRE

Toneelgroep Amsterdam, one of Holland’s leading theatrical companies, presents edited versions of Shakespeare’s Coriolanus, Julius Caesar and Antony and Cleopatra to create a continuous, multimedia, six-hour political marathon. The production, a big success at the Avignon Festival, makes use of film and live television screens which can be viewed from all angles. The audience is invited to move between auditorium and stage and view the action in close-up. The performance is in Dutch with English surtitles. There are several short intervals for recuperation and sustenance.
