Teachers raise money for motor neurone disease

ON SUNDAY May 8, 38 brave people ran in a team from Ratcliffe College called Carol’s Runners in the Hinckley half-marathon in aid of LOROS and the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Ratcliffe teachers had been inspired by their colleague Carol Gerighty, who is battling the condition. The race started in Market Bosworth and took a circular route around neighbouring villages. For many it was the first time they had run this distance. It was a chal lenging course with many steady inclines and hills, and a formidable wind. Yet the atmosphere was wonderful. Many congratulations to all the competitors and spectators who made this such a memorable occasion. Gareth Lloyd, headmaster of Ratcliffe College and an experienced marathon runner, said: “Carol has been an inspiration to us all, so to run this event with staff, students and friends of the college has been an honour.”
