THE DON Orione Seminary at Up Holland, near Wigan, Lancashire is to become a home for the elderly at an estimated cost of £55,000. This follows the closure of the senior diocesan seminary at nearby Up Holland College, which has moved to Ushaw.
Senior students for the priesthood for the Sons of Divine Providence will now study for a time at a novitiate in a nearby converted farmhouse, then move to either London or Dublin to complete their studies.
