THIS Sunday is World Communications Sunday and to mark it, Pope Paul has spoken out on the benefits and dangers that can arise from advertising. Parishes throughout the country will focus their prayers, sermons and scripture readings on the work of the media in relation to the role of the Church.
For the last 11 years the Church has set aside one Sunday to concentrate on the press, radio, television and cinema, The Pope has described the day as "an occasion for direct contact between the local churches and the professionals of the mass media, and an opportunity for the growth of better understanding between them."
