Mr. R. J. Mellish, the Catholic Labour M.P. for Rotherhithe, is one of the five Labour M.P.s who were dismissed from their offices as parliamentary private secretaries on Wednesday as a result of their having opposed the Government on the Ireland Bill. It is understood that instructions were sent to the chiefs of the five members by Mr. Attlee on his own initiative.
