Recent awards include the George Medal to Fire-Sergt. Daniel James Collins and to Sub-Officer William Brown, both of the Cardiff Fire Brigade, in recognition of gallant conduct shown when attending a very serious fire. The former is already holder of several awards for meritorious service in firefighting.

A.B. Albert Victor Langlands, 21, of Preston, has been awarded the D.S.M. for gallantry on the destroyer on which he serves, while Sergt.-Pilot Waiter Kitson, an Old Boy of Leeds Jesuit College, has been awarded the D.F.M. and mentioned in despatches for conspicuous bravery.

Finally, Flight-Lieutenant Robert Wardlow. Oxspring, 21, who was educated at the De la Salle College, Sheffield, has been awarded the D.F.C. He has shot down ten enemy 'planes, and the boys are to make him a Presentation on his visit to the school.
