London's Polish exiles join to launch special appeal

POLES LIVING in exile in Britain are a remarkably generous people, and, recently, with the help of an English eye surgeon in Moorfields Eye Hospital, who operated without charging a fee, they have teamed up to help save the eyesight of eight year old Wojtek Ploszajaski from Lodz, who was suffering from a rare form of cancer of the eye. Jarek Adamkiewicz, a Polish business man in London arranged for Wojtek to be flown to London for the operation.

Money to finance the trip, the stay in hospital and convalescence is being collected by the Polish Parents Association, 24 Florence Road, London W5.
