THE BOOK OF AUSTRIA, by Ernst Marboe (Allen & Unwin, 42s.).
frmis. is a new edition of an -11excellent volume originally published in German.
The whole conception and style of this book is Continental, which in this case is of considerable advantage. It was intended for Austrians, and so really gives the stranger a "look in" and achieves what few travel or guide books are able to do; it provides a broad canvas of country and people, history, costumes, poetry, music. the arts, etc.. and above all it reveals the essential charm with which the country and its people are associated.
The style of production is such that it cannot fail to attract every haver of beautiful books.
