silver jubilee
On Wednesday a former Anglican Benedictine celebrated the silver jubilee of his ordination. He is Fr. Peter Harris, parish priest of Our Lady and St. Thomas of Canterburs. Harrow-on-the-Hill, and 25 visiting priests attended a thanksgiving Mass at which his great friend Mgr. Vernon Johnson was the preacher. During the Mass it was announced that the Pope had sent his Apostolic Blessing.
Sixty-nine-year-old Fr. Harris, who as a young man was an Anglican Benedictine curate at Vauxhall, went out to the Gold Coast-as Ghana then was-as an Anglican missionary, and while he was there he met and had several discussions with the White Fathers. He was received into the Church in 1930 as a result of "authority". to use his own words
