Alarm bells ring on Embryo Bill

by Joanna Moorhead

PRO-LIFERS inside and outside Parliament this week expressed alarm and dismay over the contents of the forthcoming Embryo Bill, The Bill, announced in the Queen's Speech last week and published three days later, had been hailed as the biggest breakthrough for decades for those seeking to ban embryo experiments and limit the number of abortions.

But on reading its contents this week, pro-lifers said the Government had been deceitful

and dishonest in its promises. If passed, they said, the Embryo

Bill would have an even more devastating effect than the 1967 Abortion Act itself.
