SCOTTISH FOLK TALES AND LEGENDS, by Barbara Ker Wilson, illustrated by Joan KIddell Monroe (Oxford University Press, 12s. 6d.).
IN an earlier issue of Ties CATHOI le HERALD two previous volumes in this Oxford "Myths and Legends" series have been highly praised. The excellent standard of the English and Irish books has been fully maintained in Scottish Folk Tales and Legends.
Although some of these stories may not be quite so familiar south of the Tweed as English fables, they are perhaps even more exciting. coming as they do from the heroic past of the Scottish heritage. This is an excellent volume in a praiseworthy Series.
