QUEEN MARY AT DOWNSIDE Oueen Mary visited Downside School, near
Bath, on Thursday of last week, when she presentee] the Cornwell decoration to Wolf Cub Richard Kingsbury, for endurance and bravery when a num her of boys lost their lives last year as the result of an aeroplane crash on the school cricket field.
Her Majesty placed a wreath of yellow and crimson tulips, the school colours, on the graves of the boys who lost their lives in the crash. She subsequently inspected the Abbey and School and took tea with the Abbot and the Headmaster.
At the general annual meeting of the National Association of Justices' Clerks' Assistants held in Birmingham on Saturday, Mr. P. J. Stuart Oates, Assistant Clerk to the Sheffield City Justices, was unanimously elected President of the Association for the
sixth year in succession. He is a member of the St. Mary's parish, Worksop. Notts, and was formerly at St. Vincent's, Sheffield He is also chairman -of the St, Mary's (Worksop) branch of the Catholic Parents' and Electors' Association and member of the Nottingham Diocese Central Council of the Association and of the executive committee.
