Sacrifice and Resurrection

IN ANSWER to the letter from Mr Sturton-Davies (July 5), I am, by the grace of God, a cradle Catholic and 1 learned as a child that the separate consecration of the bread and wine at Mass signified the Sacrifice, ie death of Christ.

These days the emphasis is on the communal meal aspect of the Mass (somewhat to the detriment of the sacrifice) but the Mass is also a celebration of the Resurrection, so we only need to receive under one kind because He lives! Alleluia!
