An article in The Month on the World Population Conference to be held in Bucharest in August inspires me to write you a suggestion.
Fr Harriott writes that this conference may be "an eleventh-hour chance to face the problems of this century." We cannot all be at the conference but here, surely, is another important call to use energetically the power of prayer.
I once knew an office which bore on its walls the motto "Do it now!" There are other walls on which this placard might be placed with profit! So often we delay action and too late deplore events.
Would the Catholic Herald, or any of its readers, care to help organise a prayer effort in aid of what appears to be a vital issue for Christians and for the whole world?
